Hey folks-
My many apologies for my absence the past week and a half. I know the March Award is a big ?!?!!? right now- There is a winner, and there will be an award entry for that person... There are just a few things holding the whole project up at the moment.

In any case- the poll for the April Awards is up and running now... And in case you're feeling like you're running out of people to vote for.. let's take a moment and think about our community...

Introducing the new and spectacular.... SoGoPro Street Team Award!

Calling out to all SoGoPro Crew Members!

There are some exciting things happening with SoGoPro and the SoGoPro Crew right now! As you know we're approaching the end of the year and getting ready to kick off a new decade! Not to mention SoGoPro is approaching the end of their first year of blogging! So many fantastic vlogs/blogs to look back on :)

Quite an amazing feeling isn't it? To be a part of an international community that values the art of creativity and expression so intensely... and to have the pleasure of joining the incredible Hellick on their journey?

Looking back at this past year the SoGoPro Street Team (according the SoGoPro.com "SoGoPro Crew" section) is now about 1300 people, and there are 25oo Dayplayers. Those are some great numbers!

More importantly, that is a lot of incredible support. You've known right from the start SoGoPro's appreciation for you and everything you do to help tell the world about Southern Gothic Productions. SGP is always trying to find new ways to thank you and that's why we're introducing

The SoGoPro Street Team Award will be given to the SoGoPro Crew Member who shows exceptional initiative in spreading the word about SoGoPro, while having consistent, faithful presence in the SGP Community. As you know, you can find SoGoPro on several social networking websites- there's a lot you can do to spread the word and be recognized for it!

Winners of the award will have made their presence known and their voices will have been heard on the following SoGoPro pages: (Not limited to this list though!):

Wilmington, North Carolina Appreiciation Weekend!

Today and tomorrow is Wilmington Appreciation Weekend! We all love SoGoPro- and without ILM SGP definitely wouldn't be as amazing as it is. Duh! So why not make a weekend to let loyal Street Team members rant and rave about SGP's home?
Sounds good to me!
Maybe you've been there, and have some pictures you'd like to share! You've perhaps seen Bibis, and have an experience to share... Anything Wilimington, NC goes folks!
Tell us why you want to go there someday- Or where you have gone when you went!
If you live there- talk to us about life in ILM that makes it unique and incredible... Make us jealous!
Let's hear it folks!
Im going to post a quick memory of mine- I went to Wilimington, NC this past summer. We were staying in Rodanthe, NC on the Outer Banks- and even though it was a 5 hour drive each way a few friends and took the day trip anyways. We left at 5am and got there around noon. I spent the first half of the day touring the OTH locations. (Tric, Lucas's House, Peyton's, Brooke's- C/B etc) and loved it! I was then able to hang around Downtown Wilimington and enjoy the River Walk... It was beautiful. Being in that city was like literally stepping into a movie, feeling the creative energy and seeing all of the pride in people made me feel warm and whole.
Eventually we went to Java Port City? I think that's the name? We don't have those in Lowell, Ma) We met a few fellow SGP Street Team Members! Kim, Becca, Jaclyne, Andrea, Megan Mary, LaurenMichelle, Dani, Liz- I don't think I'm forgetting anyone but if I am, sorry!

It was incredible to see this SGP community unite from all over the place, in Wilmington! I was so quiet in their company, but so amazed and thrilled to be a part of a company that has had so much impact on so many people. After dinner, we all went to The Whiskey and saw the amazing BIBIS ELLISON. Now she was absolutely outstanding, and I reccommend seeing her sometime in your life because, my gosh is she worth it!
I took so many pictures but my camera has been broken since- I did snatch a couple though, and shall post a few! Here:

I was so taken by the beauty of the South! Granted, trees are everywhere- but they truly stood out to me. In Massachusetts, there are trees, but our highways don't look like this:

I wish I had more of Downtown to share, I'll try to get this camera working again so you can see the Bibis shots I got :)
But for now, this shall kick off I Love Wilmington Weekend :)

One Day Pass...Post OTH/Peyton Inspired Artwork... Read On

Alright folks- You've all probably read Hilarie's most recent blog. In it she talks about finding herself in the One Tree Hill environment. Quite frankly, all of the stuff she said about her loving that experience and taking a lot out of it- I'll admit I was moved.
One Tree Hill is already important enough to me outside of the fact that it inspired one of the most inspirational figures I personally have, Hilarie. I am in love with SoGoPro and I know you folks are too- so I don't see the harm in allowing Tuesday, 11/10/09 to be One Tree Hill/Peyton inspired artwork day in honor of her evolution that took place in that character.

I know a lot of you are fans and have probably done a thing or two, so here's your chance to show it off!
A good way to keep this post SGP related- would be to mention one way Hilarie Burton has since (post-OTH) inspired you. (Not limited to one way!)

Any posts made after midnight (EST - Im in Boston :) ) will have to be removed as this is the Official SoGoPro Street Blog, and the focus is naturally on SGP...
But this is to honor Hilarie- one of the wonderful Co-owners of SoGoPro... and so much more!

Street Team at WORK... and I don't mean "job"

Think about all of the people you live around that don't know about SoGoPro? I hope I start something here, something that inspires you all to do something more than wear SGP Merch (which is awesome, don't stop that!)...

For example if you're at College... and you live in a dorm... why not put something like this on your door!

Sure, it's not the best sign you've ever seen, certainly isn't my best- but it will encourage curiosity. Especially if the same people are walking by it every day... Sooner or later boredom will ensue and the name SoGoPro will stick when people are rotting their brains on the internet!
As the SGP Street Team it is our job to get the word out! That means internet advertising and word of mouth with the people you're surrounded by every day!
The picture you see will be one of several that will be put up around Umass Lowell.
I encourage you all to step away from the computer and target those who just need a little push onto the SGP wonderland... You can make a huge difference! Take advantage of our wide spread community and bring the world to this incredible place!

Oh and be sure to post your creations to spread the word Pedestrian style here! Show off your amazing efforts to expand the SGP Community!

SGP Pride! Update

So far so good, folks! Glad to see you all finding your own ways to utilize this space!
Just a few things I wanted to mention:
1) If you have any suggestions for the layout of this blog- please please please let me know! While I have a basic understanding of graphics and layouts, this blog is for the Street Team! Eventually when things are more organized there will be more jobs for more folks to jump in on as far as blog maintainance goes:)

2) Spread the word! Let's try to fill up our 100 Contributing Author spots! This will require a bit of effort on every author's part. Just as you want your posts to be seen we want the world the see and read about our SGP pride!

3)If you haven't noticed yet, the SoGoProStreet Twitter will feature daily blogging ideas, and might ask questions regarding SGP in hopes that you'll blog about them. Last night there was a question, "If The Hellick could read a you a bedtime story, it'd be?" - It was great to see a few responses to that! Look out for more just like that in the future.

4)You might notice the tags at the bottom of each entry. While you are personally not required to do that, do know that most likely tags will be given to your blog posts. This is a way to start off being organized. In the future, we may want to find a specific author, or a certain type of contribution posted here- I thought there's no better way than to start off the organization right away :)

5. Please make sure you've read the Mission Statement/Guides + Expectations before you start posting :) With so many contributors, we'll all want to be on the same page!
