Okay so for all those who don't know me or are lucky enough not to have to listen to me not stop talking (or tweeting) I’m Aniiyy (or Anika but I prefer Aniiyy pronounced Annie). So I've been a flaky member of SoGoPro for a while now and recently, after a battle of school work and exams, I am on here every day (nearly).
Anyways Anneliese gave me the idea to write a blog about how SoGoPro inspired me to write my first book at the age of 17. I've always been interested in writing and all my school friends will tell you how I’m always writing something or the other. Anyways it’s always been my dream to write a novel so this summer I thought why not. Now I’ve always been cautious about what others have thought of me, especially my family. You see my whole family are very much into the maths and sciences and I am very much into English. However after joining SoGoPro I felt that I wasn't alone in my creativity and especially watching Hilarie's Vlog ages ago where she read a bit of her book out, I was extremely inspired. Hilarie is my icon and seeing that she could do it made me want to do it too, as well as the 2 or 3 year old article on my mirror about a 16 year old author. The SoGoPro family were really supportive and after a conversation with the man himself...yep KT on Cbox I was adamant to finish it before my summer ended. And guess what I did. After endless hours of editing and rewriting and planning what I wanted to write during various yoga sessions...44 thousand words and 90 A4 pages later I was finished. From there I went on to make a front cover and a back cover. They aren't amazing, as my creative strength is in the writing department, but going through the flickr page inspired me to make my own cover so it felt like it was truly mine...
And well that’s basically my story of how this small amazing community no family helped me to achieve my dream now I need to get it published...well one step at a time =)
And for all those wanting it here is the synopsis: In FOR OUR DAUGHTERS Max West is a widower raising Phoebe, his four-year-old daughter. Phoebe has to live with the fact that the day she was born is also the day of her mother's death. As her fifth year without her mother approaches, Phoebe finds solace in her godmother, Amy Riley, and her daughter, Grace Crawford, another single parent family.
Amy Riley is a successful fashion designer who spends most of her days raising her four-year-old daughter, Grace, while her wayward boyfriend is travelling the world making the next best film. As the fifth year without her best friend looms she finds comfort in her ex-boyfriend, Max, and his daughter, Phoebe.
These two “broken” families have a tough week to face as the dreaded day approaches. However through their past, present and debateable future will their choices affect the outcome both parents clearly want and are simply denying? Or will Phoebe and Grace loose the only “whole” family they have ever known?
Thanks huns...keep your faith in dreams all cause they may just come true =) xx
