SoGoPro…three syllables that have changed my life for the better. Three people came together to share their love of movies and music with a community of people and instead, they instilled good values and a place where people could come and bond over their love for Southern Gothic Productions.
I’ll admit, I have only been a part of this wonderful place for two weeks, but already, I feel like it is a place where I can go to escape the daily pressures of my life. I can’t even begin to tell you how good it feels when I come into the chat and people know my name. For years, I’ve been the girl wandering down the street looking for someone to reach out. But at SoGoPro, I’m the girl who can lift her head up and make a name for herself.
People from all around the world work hard to promote and support the works of Southern Gothic Productions. Since its existence, Hilarie, Nick and Kelly strive to better the North Carolina Film Community and want to share their views on the world with anyone who is willing to listen.
To me, SGP doesn’t just stand for Southern Gothic Productions, but Some Great Place where anyone can let their imagination run free. Be creative, be spontaneous, be daring, have fun. I’m very excited to see what Team Hellick has in store for us in the future and I thank you all for being so nice to me here.
Two weeks and one day ago, I was in search of something, with no clue what that something was. It was the writings and the videos of everyone who has posted. If you have something to say, write it down. If you hear a good quote, write it down. But if you want to take a risk, jump in with both feet first. Believe me, joining SoGoPro was a risk I don’t regret taking.
So learn names, make friends, and mostly, enjoy yourself. Hilarie once said, “we enjoy you here at SoGoPro,” and they do. They truly do and it shows every time they put their hearts and souls into a project. Hilarie, Nick and Kelly gave many people a reason to smile. Thank you SoGoPro and the SoGoPro Street Team for being so accepting of others. Each of you are amazing in your own way. Embrace your differences. That’s what makes you…well….you. Explore the world around you and go find your passions in life. It worked for Hellick. Now it’s up to you.
