Featured artist of the week: Laura Izibor

For those who follow OTH series she might sound new. But, those who share a deep interest in music surely recognized her by her deep, powerful voice. Irish descent singer Laura Izibor swept us from our feet in Halloween dedicated episode performing a new single Can’t Be Love. Singer, pianist, producer – meet Laura.

Laura’s debut album Let The Truth Be Told which landed second place on Irish Album Charts, release date: May 2009, provided listeners with numbers of hits that were also featured in movies like P.S. I Love You and other television shows including MTV’s hit series – The Hills. For inspiration she turned to artists like Aretha Franklin, Nina Simone or Thin Lizzy but is often compared to nowadays artists including Alicia Keys. Music influence can be heard on her debut album which is a powerful doze of old soul music combined with piano and choir.

Laura's music and lyrics are based on her life experiences including love, work and everyday worries so every listener can compare it to his/her life and give it a thought. There is something for everyone! And she's only 23.
