I'm happy to kick off a new weekly SoGoPro Street Team activity- "Make A Scene" Mondays!
In case you didn't happen to see the 'proposal' post a couple days ago- I'll explain once more-
Each Monday there will be a piece of music selected (either by myself or a fellow Street Team member interested in participating- just ask ;) and it will be posted here on the blog in a format you all can listen (youtube video, mp3 player, etc).
As you listen or after (depending on your style) we encourage you all to write out what you "see" happening in a film as that song plays. To clarify- you're creating a scene that ideally doesn't already exist. However, if the music reminds you of a scene- that's okay as well!
Also it is not limited to one scene- it could be something of a 'montage' if you will. Whatever you like!
I'm hoping that by doing this we'll all get to open up our creative worlds a little further! We'll all get exposure to different kinds of music and have the opportunity to think like filmmakers do!
Everyone knows how important the use of music is to film/drama- so use your imagination! Let's see what you can come up with!
After learning in chat yesterday that a lot of you don't know who Aaron Copland is- I feel as though today is the perfect day for you to hear him! This Copland's "Rodeo"! I'm excited to see what you all "see" when hearing it!
If you'd like to submit a piece of music for Make a Scene Mondays- please email me at K.Ditommaso@gmail.com with the name of the piece, composer and why you selected it!
There is one thing to take note of, if you're to participate- the music MUST be instrumental! No lyrics allowed :) Also- please always credit the composer! It'd be annoying to introduce us to an awesome piece only to have no idea who created it!
Have fun!
