You Found Me
Running through a terrible dream i start to surface. I start shaking, cold soul pouring out of me. My hands drenched in sweat. Hair matting. Body chilled. My eyes flash open like my life depended on. I look around; not knowing where the safety that rushed through my was emitting from. And suddenly I hear your velvet smooth voice. "Are you ok?" You ask me as you move knotted hair out of my eyes. And that's when it hit me. Your eyes beaming through the darkness, heart beat pounding but soft as a whisper. I silently take a second, my breathe seeming too sharp. "I think so, I was having a horrible dream." I fall even more silent, still as a statue. Wondering what's going through your mind as you take a deep breathe in. Eyes close softly. Lips pursed together. Then they open, a jet stare, light shinning through your lashes. You take my hand and pull it gently to intertwine with yours. Also guiding my head to rest perfectly on your chest. You lay yours atop mine. And so quietly, I questioned if it was meant to heard you whisper closely to my ear "I promise you're safe now. I'm not going anywhere. Just close your eyes and picture our hearts so close like they are now. And all your bad dreams and demons will vanish. I will be here when you wake." And with that my eyes feel heavy, blurred vision blocking the view of your hazel heavens. But i restlessly move my face in your direction, looking into those promising eyes i speak "promise?" With a quick movement you rest your hand on my chest, right where my heart was pounding adrenaline, hope and love through my veins. You gently vowed "This is mine now. I will never break it. It's the most important thing to me." As light as a feather i rest my ear right over your heart. "I have been waiting for this my whole life. It will never beat as fast as when I'm here. This is my heaven." And with that i fall asleep.
